CAN COUNSELLING HELP ME?

Counselling gives an individual the opportunity to speak in a confidential environment with a professional who is detached from the worries and concerns brought by the client. The counsellor will actively listen with empathy and unconditional positive regard to ensure the client feels safe to explore anything that they feel they would like to address.

ARE OUR SESSIONS PRIVATE?

Yes. Counselling sessions are in strictest confidence. In some cases an exception could occur if child protection was an issue or a crime or fraud was to be committed (such as acts of terrorism or money laundering) or where there is a serious risk of self-harm or harm to another person. This would first be discussed with the client. Confidentiality is covered in the first session before starting.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

It can be difficult to predict the number of sessions that could be needed.  Sometimes only a small amount of sessions may be needed while others may need more. We will regularly review and discuss your progress together.

CAN I CANCEL AT ANY TIME?

Unless unforseen circumstances occur,  I do ask that any change to the scheduling of a pre-arranged appointment is notified by at least 24 hours to enable me to plan accordingly  with your sessions and others.

I hope these answers may help a little when considering counselling, but if you need to ask anything else please do not hesitate to contact me.
